Kenya Experience camp about Running with the Kenyans

Adharanand Finn is the writer of the famous bestselling book Running with the Kenyans. His book is translated in 20 languages and has been read by runners from all over the world. This year he teamed up with the Kenya Experience to give runners who read and loved his book the chance to experience the same things he did. At the moment Adharanand and a group of runners (mostly recreational runners) from different parts of the world are in Iten. They train with Kenyans, have meet-and-greet sessions with top athletes and learn a lot about Kenyan running. This week they ran the famous (or infamous) Fluorspar run, an extremely tough challenge; over 20 kilometers of uphill running which starts at 1400m altitude and finishes at 2700m.

I am priviliged to help them out during the two weeks they are here and arrange some meetings for them, for instance with 59 minute half marathoner Edwin Kipyego (see photo), whom they visited at his home, and with 2-times world champion Abel Kirui. They also visited a trainingcamp, based at the famous Kamariny track, had a talk with upcoming marathon runner Boaz Kipyego, went on a safari to Lake Nakuru and followed the famous Thursday morning fartlek by car (some even joined in). I hope it will be an experience for them which they will never forget!
